Volcanic Secrets From Within – DIY Bentonite Clay Mask

As we live our lives, we come in contact with a ton of toxins, which are in every day products like paint, markers, unpurified water, pesticides, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products and more!  We breathe in toxins from vehicle exhaust, and can even be eating and drinking toxins from processed foods!  That’s a scary thought, isn’t it?!

“Heavy metal toxins” usually refer to things like mercury, cadmium, lead and benzene. These can be found in those products previously mentioned, and also in foods that are made with high fructose corn syrup or certain types of fish. Bentonite clay benefits your body by helping to get rid of many of these toxins and can increase immunity and reduce inflammation in your body.

In addition to detoxifying your body, the clay itself has a range of nutrients. Bentonite clay is known to have an abundance of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron and potassium.

The volcano…one of natures most destructive and harmful phenomenons, hides  surprising “Secrets from Within.” These secrets are known as Volcanic Ash and Bentonite Clay!

Bentonite clay walks hand in hand with volcanic ash as it is formed by the alteration of minute glass particles derived from volcanic ash. Over a period of time the clay, a soft mineral substance, is formed as a result of volcanic activity subjected to both physical and chemical environmental influences.

Bentonite clay which is named after Benton Shale was discovered in large amounts in Fort Benton, Montana near Rock River in Wyoming. The state of Wyoming boasts the purest and finest sodium bentonite as it leads the nation in mined production and possesses 70 percent of the world’s known deposits.

Dating back to the prehistoric era, early man used clay for medicinal purposes and Aristotle (384-322 BC) made reference to internal human consumption for therapeutic reasons. Cultures such as the American Indians, the African, Andes and Australian tribes have known and understood this natural wonder for years using it for preventive care, remedies and mineral capabilities.

Mined directly from the earth, rich in beneficial minerals (silica, calcium, iron, magnesium, sodium, and potassium) it is 100 percent natural and organic. The American Indians referred to it as a miraculous natural clay called “ee-wah-kee” meaning the mud that heals. Now it is commonly and widely known as the “healing clay.” The reason being, is that bentonite has a strong negative electromagnetic charge and when activated by water it swells open like a sponge absorbing 7-10 times its weight and 18 times its dry volume acting as a powerful magnet in and on our bodies absorbing and removing toxins, impurities, heavy metals, and chemicals thus helping to restore the body to a healthy pH balance. This unique quality combined with its mineral enriched properties naturally transports oxygen to cells and improves blood circulation while detoxifying, purifying, healing, and replenishing/regenerating skin tissue. This process results in the reduction of the appearance of scar tissue, acne, fine lines, and uneven skin tone while improving the look of the skin giving it a firmer vital, fresh, healthy glow.

Bentonite has been dubbed “the clay of a 1,000 uses” because of its versatility. It can be used externally in the following ways: Skin poultice for bites, burns, cuts, and stings; Skin paste to calm itching and irritation due to eczema, psoriasis, chicken pox, rashes, blemishes, etc… Mud pack/mask for smooth and healthy skin; A detox bath to rejuvenate the skin; As an ingredient in homemade skin care recipes.
