DIY Oatmeal Face Mask

#TipTuesday

Here is a really soothing face mask recipe you can make at home:

Combine 1/2 cup of hot (not boiling) water and 1/3 cup oatmeal. After the water and oatmeal have settled for two or three minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and one small egg white. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water.

In most cases, the main difference between serums and oils is that oil molecules are much larger and serve to penetrate only the outermost layers of the skin. This makes them more suitable as moisturizers. Serum molecules are much smaller and can get to the deeper layers of the skin, making them more suitable as hydratants.
