If you have ever read about being more positive, changing your life or improving yourself, you have probably come across the concept of affirmations.
The reason people talk about them and encourage them so much is because of how powerful they can be. An affirmation is just a positive statement that you repeat in front of yourself to achieve a positive attitude. It seems so simple, but it really makes a big difference in how you think and act.
Here are some different ways you can use your daily affirmations.
Write them in your journal every day
When you write down affirmations, it is good to have them in a fixed place to which they can be referred. Have a page in your planner or journal dedicated to all your favorite positive affirmations. I recommend you use the Affirmation Pages in I Am Beauty Watch Me Soar! Planner which is now 20% off. You can either read this list daily or write new ones down every day.
Each morning when you write in your diary, write down at least one positive affirmation that relates to something that happens that day or that will help you to keep your mind on what you are about to do. Writing it down will help you to use it efficiently and to speak it out loud to yourself.
Keep digital copies of your affirmations.
It is also a good idea to have your favorite affirmations in other places so that you can use them whenever you want. Maybe you keep your diary at home, but you need a quick positive affirmation when you’re at work or running errands. Try storing a digital copy of it on your phone so you can refer to it whenever you want. It really helps in these unexpected situations.
Set a timer for using the affirmations
Do you find it difficult to remember to use your affirmations every day? Set a timer! This can be a timer that runs at the same time every day, for example just before work or at bedtime in the evening. You can also have a different timer every day, depending on your schedule.
Use event-specific affirmations
There may also be times in your life when you need a positive attitude towards a particular situation that causes you stress or anxiety. For example, if you have a big oral presentation coming up at work or school, you might be worried about all the things that might go wrong. Don’t focus on these, but on something positive. Create affirmations that help you understand that you are capable of giving this presentation, remember that you are prepared and that you are courageous and strong.
Professional Tip – Make sure that the affirmations you choose are only for yourself and not for others. This is about you and your own way of thinking. You should not reflect another person in your life. They are personal and private, and you don’t have to feel that you should share them with anyone!
