5 Effortless Self-Care Routines you can Always Rely on

Beneficial habits like self-care often fall by the wayside during stressful times. It can be difficult to focus on anything but the bare necessities when life gets tough. However, the fact is that these are the days when you need to take care of yourself the most. One way to help yourself in those moments is to have a self-care toolkit. Having a list of self-care routines can make it easier for you to use them when you need to. There are a few other tricks you can use to get through the tough times. Read on, and I’ll share them with you.

Make a list

Let’s start with your emergency self-care plan. This is a list of at least five activities that you can easily incorporate into your life during the most stressful times. Having such a reminder on hand will allow you to reap the benefits of self-care without having to think about it too much. This list can include simple reminders like going to bed early to get enough sleep, eating nutritious food to keep your energy up, or asking for help when you need it because these are all things you might forget when you’re busy. During difficult times, the basic things of self-care can be the most important.

Create a care package

Another way to focus on self-care during difficult times is to create a care package in advance. In it, you can include some of your favorite little things like a good book, herbal teas, a face mask, fuzzy slippers, and a classic CD. Pack anything that brings you joy. Being able to reach for this package when you’re stressed can make all the difference in the world and greatly improve your outlook.

Involve your crew

When things look bleak, you may need a little help to get back on track. That’s why it’s a good idea to reach out to trusted friends and family members now and ask them for help going forward. Talk to your closest confidants and let them know that you want them to always support your self-care routine. Tell them about the benefits they have brought you and tell them you appreciate their support when they see you not taking care of yourself as well as you should. Sometimes those who know us best can see things we don’t. When your friends know they are looking out for you in this regard, they can encourage you to take care of yourself during stressful times.

Planning now will make it easier to maintain your self-care routine in the future. Always remember that it is during the most difficult times that you need to take care of yourself the most.
