What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is a massive sale event that happens once a year, exclusively for Prime members. It started in 2015 as a way to celebrate Amazon’s 20th anniversary, and it has grown bigger and better every year since. Prime members can enjoy discounts on a wide range of products, from Amazon’s own devices like Echo and Kindle to popular brands like Sony, Bose, and Theragun.

When is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day 2023 will kick off on Tuesday, July 11, and last until July 12. But you don’t have to wait until then to start saving. Some Prime Day deals will start as early as July 8 and 9, especially on Amazon’s own devices. Prime Day itself will start very early in the morning on July 11 and offer new deals throughout the day, some of them limited in quantity or time.

What to expect on Prime Day 2023

Amazon has promised some exciting deals for Prime members this year, including some new features that will make shopping even more fun and rewarding. For example, Amazon has introduced an invite-only deals program for products that are likely to sell out fast. Prime members can sign up for access in advance of the event and get notified when the deals go live.

Early Prime Day deals

You can already take advantage of some early Prime Day deals right now, with discounts on Amazon’s own devices, such as the Kindle Paperwhite Kids ebook reader and the Echo Dot Kids (5th gen) Alexa smart speaker. Plus, if you download the Amazon Photos app and upload your first photo by midnight Pacific Time on July 7, you’ll get a $15 Amazon credit. You can also check out Amazon Coupons.

How to prepare for Prime Day 2023

To make the most of Prime Day, you’ll want to do some homework before the event. Here are some tips to help you get ready:

– Set up deal alerts based on your previous searches and viewed items on the Amazon app. You’ll get push notifications when the deals go live.

– Request an invitation for the invite-only deals program if you’re interested in getting exclusive discounts on hot items that may sell out quickly.

– follow brands you love to get deal alerts

But wait, there’s more: If you buy an Amazon eGift Card worth $50 or more between July 3 and July 10, you’ll also get a $5 bonus credit that you can use until August 25. That’s like getting free money to spend on Prime Day or later. You’ll get an email with instructions for using the credit after you place your order, and you’ll see the savings applied at checkout. Just keep in mind that this credit only works for items shipped and sold by Amazon, not third-party sellers or gift cards.

This offer is only for Prime members, but that’s not a problem because you need to be a Prime member to access most of the Prime Day deals anyway. And if you’re not a Prime member yet, don’t worry: You can still enjoy this offer and all the Prime Day discounts by signing up for a 30-day free trial. Just remember to cancel before it renews automatically if you don’t want to pay for the membership.

If you receive SNAP, Medicaid, or other qualifying government assistance, you can save more with Prime Access. Qualifying government assistance recipients can access all of Prime for 50% off the regular price.

Do you have to be a Prime member to get Prime Day deals?

Technically, yes—but there are ways to get around that. If you’ve never tried Prime before, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial and get all the benefits of Prime without paying a dime. Just make sure to cancel before it renews automatically if you don’t want to keep it. Get a year of Grubhub+ for FREE when you sign up for Amazon Prime by July 5. This gets you unlimited $0 delivery fees, and exclusive deals like saving 10% off $12+ orders, up to $10 off on Grubhub.

Another option is to shop at other retailers that are competing with Prime Day. In the past, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target have all offered similar deals to Amazon’s Prime-exclusive prices, so you can shop around and find the best bargains without needing a Prime membership.
